Ameren Re-opens Taum Sauk Hydroelectric Plant May 28, 2010

The newly re-built Tauk Sauk Pumped Storage Plant holds 1.5 billion gallons of water. Construction began in October 2007.

It’s been more than four years since the upper Taum Sauk reservoir failed and flooded a popular Southeast Missouri park. Electric utility Ameren completed the construction of a replacement dam, and Ameren executives recently gathered at the new facility. KRCU’s Jacob McCleland has more.
