The Amish are a relatively unknown group in the United States. In certain areas, signs tell automobile drivers to “share the road” with them and their horse-drawn buggies. Many consider their baked goods and hand-built furniture to be top-notch. And they’re pretty much automatically associated with bonnets and beards. Yet when KBIA’s Megan Granger traveled north to the border of Iowa and Missouri, she found a partnership that has arisen between two communities that rarely interact anywhere else.
